The Information Office functions under the Information & Public Relations Department (I&PRD) and the Resident Commissioner, Kerala House, New Delhi as an attached department with Information Officer as DDO and implementing Officer.

The Information Office coordinates remote responsibilities of the Information & Public Relations Department (I&PRD) in Delhi and co-ordinates media arrangements during the visit of the Chief Minister, Ministers and other Government Officials. It organises press conferences, issues press notes, press releases and photo-video coverage of all official functions of Kerala House and that of Govt. of Kerala in Delhi.

The Information Office plays a pivotal role in Delhi to coordinate and liaison with the officials of ITPO, the organisers of India International Trade Fair (IITF) for setting up Kerala Pavilion in IITF. It also represents Govt. of Kerala in the meetings of the Republic Day Parade, presents the theme of the Kerala Float before the national jury and performs all duties and responsibilities related to the Republic Day Parade Float. It conducts various cultural events, seminars and exhibitions for Govt. of Kerala such as Keralapiravi (Foundation Day celebrations). It ensures a cultural bond with Delhi Malayalees and ensures their participation in cultural events.

The Information Office maintains a healthy relationship with  public relations officers of other State Bhawans in Delhi, officers of the Press Information Bureau and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Culture, Press Club of India, Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC), other than Malaylee Journalists in Delhi. The office coordinates the accreditation and welfare pension scheme of Journalists from Kerala who work in Delhi and have an establishment in Kerala. It scrutinizes news on Govt. of Kerala and collects feedback from people about various issues.
