Law Wing

The Law Officer is the Official head of the Law Wing and has the overall control and supervision of the Wing who works under the supervision and control of the Law Secretary to the Government of Kerala and the Resident Commissioner.

The Law Wing is vested with the duty of monitoring Supreme Court Cases wherein the Government of Kerala is a party and liaisons with the Office of the Advocate General, Government Departments and Standing counsels for prosecuting/defending cases and ensures the timely compliance of the orders of the Courts.

The Law Officer is the competent officer to file Affidavits on behalf of all Departments of Government of Kerala .He is also  empowered to execute Vakalatnamas on behalf of the Government  of Kerala in SLP(Criminal) before  the Hon'ble Supreme Court. Orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court received  from the Standing Counsels are also being communicated  from this office to various Government Departments and Advocate General Kerala.
